love vs lust
Love and lust are words that oppose each other in many ways, yet seem
to get thrown together at times as well. Both finding their way into
romantic relationships, the relationship between these two words is certainly
varied and open to interpretation. Normal views tend to see the following
three themes develop in the similarities and difference of lust and love within
society. Throughout many generations, love and lust has become a part of
society that people cannot differentiate between the two feelings. To some,
love is a passionate and exciting kind of feeling that only few share and to
others, lust is the feeling that most everyone comes to feel though it is the
feeling that is mistakenly believed as love. To be able to tell the difference
between the two is very difficult due to the fact that love and lust has so
many similarities while they are two most definitely different things. Both can
hurt ones' feeling and at the same time bring joy into ones' life. Here we come
to the first similarity in that of lust and love. Love must also normally
be taken in context of a human relationship. Most people will agree that
love is between two people, in the most natural of examples. Upon this
similarity we find a difference of opinion for some, however. Respective
of the term “love,” it can also be taken to other objects. For instance,
one may love their job or love a particular activity. On this we have seen the
difficulties in the comparison. In different degrees we see love and lust
as similar to that of relationship, where both must usually be seen in this
light.
“Love and Lust in
Shakespeare’ sonnets Shakespeare’ sonnets are on a variety of themes such as
time, love, gender, politics, sexuality, law, metaphysics and many others. They
express strong feelings and strong arguments. However Shakespeare struggle with
love and lust is evident in his sonnets”.
. Throughout the reading of
Shakespeare’ sonnets I can per sieve that he is a profound admirer of beauty;
and he per sieves beauty in different ways. There are some kinds of beauty that
he considers good for his spirit, and others that he considers bad or evil for
his spirit. There is lot of intensity the two words love and lust holds with
them. The major similarity is in the intensity in which love and lust are
experienced. Love is the easy choice here. Most people agree that
love is an intense feeling, emotion, or state. Regardless upon one’s
definition of love, it is intense. Lust on the other hand is not as
simple, yet its intensity cannot be denied. Regardless of its development
or moral considerations, lust may also be experienced in high regards to
intensity. Thus we find a certain similarity between the two terms in
intensity. In regards to intensity, it is interesting to find lust and love
differing in a certain respect. Love is normally seen as a developed and
powerful state. In regards to intensity, its prominence is unmistakable
by most. Lust, however, does not share this. As it can arrive
without development and within one’s desires, whether positive or negative, it
does not share this “high” view as love does. Judith Viorst the great American author has better quoted
about love and lust
“Lust is what keeps you
wanting to do it even when you have no desire to be with each other. Love is
what makes you want to be with each other even when you have no desire to do
it.
Love
and lust are two very strong words with very strong meanings. Love and lust are
two words that go hand and hand in relationships. They are emotions that are
interlocked with one another. Without one it is hard to have the other and it
also seems that in order to be in and stay in love, one must desire or lust
after their partner. Without that desire, love and the wanting to be with one's
partner can fade away. In relationships both must be present, but it is
important to understand these emotions and keep them in balance....
